IZNAJAR
Topped by a castle bestriding a rock over the Iznajar reservoir,
romantically called - the Lake of Andalucia. From the top of the town
there are tremendous views where, on a nearby hillock, the old Moorish
castle frowns down on the lowly houses. At the lakeside, a side road leads
to the Valdearenas beach where you can picnic, fish or water-ski. 14
kilometres on from Iznajar, on a road above the lake, takes you to RUTE -
well known for its aniseed liquor industry, the dry is around 55% alcohol
- not for the fainthearted!
